Geneva Health Forum

Vision, mission and objectives

Established in 2006 by the University Hospitals of Geneva (HUG) and the University of Geneva (UNIGE), the GHF is a Swiss not-for- profit initiative that brings together a diverse range of stakeholders to discuss and address global health challenges. It serves as a neutral platform for dialogue and collaboration among policymakers, representatives from academia, civil society, and the private sector.

Vision

A world where health is a human right and access to health a reality for every human being.

Mission

The mission of the Geneva Health Forum is to facilitate dialogue among global health actors. This dialogue contributes to the improvement of health policies and access to care worldwide.

Objectives

To fulfill this mission, the GHF has identified three main objectives:

A Platform for dialogues

Since 2006, The GHF develops a biennal conference with a public call for contributions. Scientists, healthcare professionals, and field actors can discuss global health challenges and opportunities.

The GHF organizes also regular activities throughout the year, in the form of panels, roundtables, or working groups. These regular activities prepare respond to specific requests from GHF partners.

Every year in May, during the World Health Assembly (WHA), the GHF events enable scientists and civil society players to make their voices heard on the main challenges and opportunities face by the global health.

The GHF rests on 3 pillars:

1 Events

  • Thematic events are organized throughout the year
  • The Conference remains a biennal event.
  • GHF specific events take place during the World Health Assembly

2 Networking

Opportunities are provided to members of the GHF Community to facilitate the exchange of experiences, identify synergies and encourage collaboration across specialties.

3 Communicationg

– One of the main objectives of the GHF is to support the visibility of innovative actors in global health. GHF events and platforms are leveraged to showcase innovations, highlight perspectives from diverse actors, as well as success stories and lessons from the field.
